You don't have a hand mixer? That's what I used. I'd love to have one of those fancy ones with the bowl and stuff, but I don't. If you don't have a mixer I'd say to let the butter sit out and get really soft, then use a spoon to put small globs in the bowl and then add the hot water and use a whisk. It should combine like that. Then you can put the mixture in the fridge for a while to get cold before proceeding. Or you could just take the lazy way out and get a pre-made pie crust ^_^
