Look what I found wandering down my street.

Niku, Scutter, and I went outside and I noticed this tiny little fluffy thing wandering down the street. I called to it, but it was wandering in my direction anyway, so I went out to meet it. Then stupid Scutter ran out of the yard, ran into it, nipped it. She's so dumb in her old age, I had to chase her off. -_- I managed to lure the puppy back over and picked it up. Then I looked around to see if there was an owner attached to the puppy, but there was no one around because it was hot out x_x So I took it inside to ask Andrew if he recognized it. He suggested that it was our next door neighbors' dog, but when I went to ask them, they said theirs was gray. They said they'd never noticed one in the neighborhood before. So I took it back home.

It's a girl and it's really friendly. It likes to sit in my lap so I'm sure it's someone's lap dog. It's super scared of Scutter and Niku though. I don't know if it's because it's tiny or because Scutter is a dumbass and attacked it earlier. I won't let Scutter near it. When I let Niku sniff it, it climbed up me to get away from her ^_^;; I took it's picture and printed out some Found fliers and taped them up outside, but so far no one's popped up to claim it.

I'm actually surprised that no one has shown up yet. When I lost Niku, I was frantically looking everywhere! I'm pretty sure this little girl is from the neighborhood because it's sooooo tiny, I can't imagine it running around on it's own for very long. It came right up to me, so somebody would have picked it up before it got far. On the other hand, it doesn't have a collar, it's pretty dirty and it doesn't look like anyone's trimmed its nails in a while. But that doesn't mean that it's not a pet. It's just not as well loved as it could be. Mom thinks that if we haven't heard from anyone by tomorrow, we should see if a vet can check it for a chip. Until then, it's our little house guest. We have a kennel downstairs that it's napping in with the door closed to keep Scutter and Niku away. Niku keeps going over there to look at it. She loves sniffing other dogs XD

And speaking of Niku and other dogs, I took her to Petsmart tonight. It was the Petsmart birthday party. As soon as we walked into the place, Niku peed on the entry way rug! x_x I was so embarrassed! We went to the back and got some goody bags and Niku got to sniff other dogs. A lady that worked there mentioned that someone had just dropped off their Boston Terrier with the pet adoptions department because it got too big. I was like O_o Because Boston Terriers are not big dogs. Sure, you'll get some beefy ones, but they are medium dogs at most. I think she was strongly hinting that she though I should come back on Sunday to adopt it ^_^;; Sorry, we already have two (three if you count Opie). I can't imagine what we'd do with another one.

They had the training area set up and were letting dogs run around and play in it, but Niku gets kinda scared and snaps when other dogs get up in her face. She loooooves to sniff other dogs, but they're all on leashes, so it's ok. Off the leash, I wouldn't want her to snap at anyone else's dog. They were also taking pictures, but I have a gazillion pictures of Niku already and I didn't want to be in one, so we skipped that. They had some people treats and well as dog treats, but I only took a few dog treats. Niku got to sniff a few dogs and look around and then we left because our brand of dog food was not on sale. They only had Large Breed on sale -_-

There was a kerchief in the goody bags that says "I partied at Petsmart" or something like that and I put it on Niku and she looks so cute! She looks like a dog scout or something ♥ She hasn't bothered to take it off yet because she's more interested in our little visitor. I think I'm gonna go let our little house guest out in the backyard to use the bathroom. I've tried to give her food and water and treats but she doesn't seem very interested. She's probably scared from being lost. I'm sure she'll settle down soon and hopefully her parents will show up.

Edit: I found its family. ^_^ I took it out back to pee and sniff around and then I carried it out front while I let Niku and Scutter use the bathroom. I noticed a car stopped down the street for a few minutes, so I was like "I bet they're putting up a sign." So I put Niku and Scutter in the house and started walking down the street. But then they turned and went down to the opposite end of the street only to turn around and head back for me. Then they put their high beams on me and drove up. There was a young guy in the passenger's seat and he was like "Smith right?" I was like "Yep, are you missing a dog?" He said yeah and I told him that he was in luck. XD They only live three houses down on the other side of the street and apparently the guy knows Andrew. So I gave him the doggie, whose name is Bree and he told me to tell Andrew hi and I walked back home. So luckily, the puppy didn't go far and it was safe all day and now it's home and everybody's happy. ^_^

I'm glad that Bree found her family! Good thing you found her or she might still be lost, poor thing.

Yeah. Luckily, she didn't wander far. She's really tiny and someone could have not seen her and run her over or she could have run into an unfriendly dog in the other neighborhood. But she got to hang out in the air conditioned house all day and got a happy ending. ^_^
