Cookies Against Drunk Driving
Saturday, June 9th, 2007 07:52 amWho else thinks that Paris Hilton's "Undisclosed medical condition" is an STD? The reason they tried to release her early is that they didn't want the other female prisoners who are going to make her their bitch, getting whatever it is she has. XD Yes, I am horribly amused by her broken down screaming and crying of "it's not fair" when she had to go back to jail. Sweetie, if you do the crime, you either learn your lesson or do time. Since you didn't learn, guess what you get?
I know a lot of people are like "WTF?! Why is everyone talking about her? She's not important?" I was like that too, but then I saw a little news clip about Mothers Against Drunk Driving thinking that people should be concerned with this, simply because drunk driving is such a big issue. Paris Hilton is in the age group of those most likely to drink and drive and kill someone. She's also part of a growing list of celebrities who are caught driving drunk. The issue about her celebrity is damned annoying, but there is a bigger issue, a bigger message behind it. So yes, gabbing about Paris Hilton may seem like a waste of time, but if it gets the message across to a few people, it'll help.
As long as I'm on the subject, here's an interesting piece about a drunk driving program called 15 Minutes. I was going to summarize it, but it's complicated and just better if you watch. We need more powerful messages to drum this into the skull of people who do this shit. You hear it over and over and over "Don't drink and drive." It's a simple message! There's a simple solution. Why is it such a problem?! Ugh.
So, back to Paris. She might say it's not fair, but all it would have taken was a little swerve into another car and little miss heiress might also be a murderess. If you do the crime, you do the time.
